About

As a psychotherapist with 20 years of experience, I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you feel safe to be seen and heard. Together, we'll take a collaborative, holistic approach to care, working at a pace that feels manageable for you. We'll explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors to build insight into what triggers overwhelm and why. With that insight, we can work toward greater self-acceptance while building the strengths and skills that lead to lasting confidence. My approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral techniques, though I've found other modalities to be just as effective, often more accessible. I incorporate body- and somatic-based interventions, EMDR, and IFS/parts work when they fit a client's needs. I'm also a certified ADHD clinical service provider with advanced training in trauma. I work with clients coping with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, as well as those navigating executive functioning challenges like time management, procrastination, and emotional regulation. Having lived overseas for many years myself, my practice often attracts expats and Third Culture Kids (TCKs). I understand the unique joys and challenges of the expat life, and I help clients navigate the stress of constant change, the grief of goodbyes, and the complicated feelings that can surface when returning "home." I've worked with clients around the world at every stage of transition. A native of Long Island, NY, I hold a bachelor's degree in sociology from DePaul University and a master's degree in clinical social work from Columbia University. I've been a licensed clinical social worker since 2006, with experience in hospitals, schools, homeless shelters, and clinics before opening my private practice. I started my practice in 2010 while living overseas, primarily serving American expats and their families. In 2019, I returned to the U.S. and settled in Northern Virginia, where I've practiced ever since. I'm a mom to two children, and outside of work I love to travel, watch stand-up comedy, and spend time in nature. Reaching out to a therapist takes courage, and finding the right fit matters. I encourage you to choose a clinician you feel a genuine connection with and makes you feel safe. Click the "Request Appointment" tab to schedule your free 15-minute consultation.
